XWe've got the A/C on!It's summertime in Texas, and we understand the burden of wearing a mask in our triple digit temps! But, in accordance with county rulings, we are now requiring masks for all humans that accompany their pets inside.

Our Response to Covid-19

As of March 18th, 2020  we will be offering “curbside service” only at both locations.

This is not a decision made lightly, nor is it out of panic. We are aiming to promote the social distancing that is being urged by local authorities. Our goal is to have no more than 10 people in the building at a time.

What This Means for You

At this time, all of our hours and services will remain the same. We will have you call when you arrive, and a technician will come out, discuss treatment plan, appointment details, services, etc., then take your pet inside for their visit. If an estimate is needed, the technician will call you to discuss. You are welcome to wait in the parking lot for your pet, or drop them off for the day free of charge. Payment for services can be taken over the phone, or with the technician.

This “Sonic Drive-In” style of service will be in effect until further notice. We just won’t wear the roller skates!

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. We are all in this together!

Some other helpful information during this difficult time

We have heard several of our clients voice concerns over coming in for their pet’s routine visits. Aside from the 100% curbside service that we have adopted now, we wanted to remind you of a few reasons why your pet’s health is more important than ever:

  • You’re spending more time at home, which means more time around your pets. Your health is directly related to your pet’s health. You don’t want infectious diseases from a lapse in vaccination schedule threatening to infect you. Rabies, for example, has virtually a 100% mortality rate in all mammals. COVID-19 on the other hand has an estimated mortality rate of 0.2-4%, depending on risk factors, age, location, etc. Rabies might not be as common, but it is certainly not something to disregard! Plus, rabies vaccines are required by law for dogs and cats.

  • You may not end up with COVID-19, but your home will without a doubt end up playing host to fleas and ticks if your pet’s prevention lapses! Fleas and ticks carry multiple diseases that can pass to humans, and cause miserable symptoms for your pet AND yourself. Itchy bite sites, rash, hair loss, and skin infections are the most common reactions to flea and tick bites.

  • We’re still open! Hopefully we are able to stay that way, but if circumstances take a wrong turn, we may be looking at further restrictions on how we see our patients. Don’t put your pet’s services off to see how things play out, because no one knows! What we do know is that as of right now, we are able to provide you with the same quality of care that we always have while maintaining the required social distancing.

Please give us a call to schedule your curbside service. We have staff members actively calling our clients with pets that are past due for services. This isn’t just about your pet’s health, it’s about yours too!

Update from Dr. Nelson:

Update 3/27/20:

Happy Friday everyone!

We wanted to give y'all a little more information on our phone procedures in the wake of COVID-19. While we are STILL OPEN, and utilizing our curbside service to its full extent, we have a lighter staff than usual. This is due in part to the limitation of 10 people to a gathering, and also having staff members at home taking care of their families.

During this time, our phone call volume has increased greatly. To help the in-clinic staff members, we are using virtual receptionists that work from home. This greatly aids in our efforts for social distancing, while maintaining the quality of service you have come to expect from us!

You may be asked questions that you wouldn't be ordinarily. Our virtual receptionists have access to your pet's information just as they would at the clinic, but technology being what it is, our system is not fail-proof! You will be asked for your name and phone number, along with a series of questions to ensure that all of your concerns are addressed, or that you are directed to the appropriate person if needed. We want to make sure that we are thorough, and should your call be disconnected for any reason, be sure that we have a good callback number.

Thank you for your patience and understanding! As always, we value your friendship and the trust that you have put in us ❤️
